"Michael,
This is alarming. And outrageous. As you know, the U.S. House is already considering massive cuts to Medicaid, eliminating healthcare coverage for more than 10 million people. And it just got worse. We’re now hearing that without action from House lawmakers, the tax credits that have made health coverage affordable for millions more hard-working Americans will expire. People whose employers don’t provide health coverage must purchase it on their own, typically through the Affordable Care Act’s individual marketplaces. The tax credit paired with individual market coverage is what makes health insurance affordable for people with pre-existing conditions like blood cancer. Failing to continue the tax credit will result in four million more Americans losing their health coverage, leaving many blood cancer patients with no way to afford their cancer treatment."
